Wiley: article allowance for 2022 is reached

illu

UZH members will only be able to publish OA articles free of charge in the hybrid journals of the publisher Wiley again from 2023. Publication via the green OA route will continue to be possible without fees.

Due to our Read&Publish agreement with the publisher Wiley, researchers at the University of Zurich can publish Open Access articles in the publisher's hybrid journals at no cost to themselves. However, the publisher has set an upper limit of articles per year, which has now been reached. Until the end of 2022, the University Library of Zurich will therefore no longer be able to cover the costs of the article fee (APC).

How to publish until the end of the year
Members of the University of Zurich or affiliated hospitals can continue to publish OA articles, but at their own expense.

Alternatively, it is possible to publish the articles in Wiley journals as "closed access" and then publish the article Open Access. With the green open access route (self-archiving), the accepted manuscript can be published in the UZH repository ZORA after an embargo period.

New allocation from 2023
The Open Access agreement with Wiley has not ended. From 1 January 2023, OA articles can again be published free of charge within the agreement. Here you can find more information on the Read&Publish agreement with Wiley
