Opening UB Social Sciences
Monday, 14 September 2026 is the big day: The opening of our new location UB Social Sciences in the BIM building (Binzmühlestrasse 11; 1st floor)!
Over the past three months, a major relocation took place on the UZH Oerlikon campus, and four library locations were closed: UB Communication Science, UB Political Science, UB Popular Culture Studies & Film Studies and UB Social and Cultural Anthropology & Sociology.
Their collections and part of the UB Psychology's collection are now located at the new UB Social Sciences.
New Library Location: UB Social Sciences
Soon, everything will be set up and ready in the new UZH building BIM, and the UB Social Sciences will open on Monday, 14 September 2026. In addition to the collections, the modern facilities offer a variety of other services:
- 80 study spaces
- 4 work booths
- 5 group study rooms
- course reserves and reference collection
- lockers
- coffee bar on the ground floor
The UB Social Sciences will be open as follows:

Still existing: UB Psychology
The UB Psychology is temporarily closed due to the relocation and reopens also on Monday, 14 September 2026. Part of the collection has been moved to the UB Social Sciences, while other items remain available at their previous location in the BIN building:
- UB Psychology (BIN): Focus on the individual: general and differential psychology, as well as clinical psychology
- UB Social Sciences (BIM): Focus on social and organizational psychology (with psychoanalytic elements), i.e., emotion, cognition, and behavior with a focus on the social context
