Oerlikon Campus: Temporary Closures and Study Spaces

In June, several library locations in Oerlikon will move into the new BIM building. Due to the move, these libraries will be closed until the grand opening in September.  

Closed from June 1 to August 31:

Starting 1 September 2026, these locations will reopen in the new BIM building at Binzmühlestrasse 11/13 in Zurich-Oerlikon.

Closed from June 29 to August 31:

 The UB Psychology will also reopen on September 1, 2026. 

Alternative workspaces in the AFL, AND, and BIN buildings

During the transition period, alternative workspaces are available on the Oerlikon campus for studying. Here is an overview of the rooms.

Building AFL

List of Temporary Study Spaces AFL (PDF, 30 KB)

Until August 31, one side of the 5th floor in buidling AFL is temporarily open to students (see Access (JPG, 329 KB)). Additional study spaces are available there during building hours, Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm.
Important note: The kitchenette is not in use and must not be used. 

Building AND

List of Temporary Study Spaces AND (PDF, 30 KB)

In addition to the lecture halls in building AND, room 4.77 (4th floor) is available as a study space. The room accommodates up to 10 people and is accessible daily from 7am to 7pm with a UZH Card. This arrangement applies exclusively to room 4.77. All other rooms and areas are excluded.

Building BIN

List of Temporary Study Spaces BIN (PDF, 36 KB)

Rooms BIN 0.B.4 (always) and BIN 0.B.6 (unless otherwise reserved) may also be used for studying. Both rooms are open during building hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Borrowing and learning during the closure

While the locations are closed, borrowing and copying services will not be available. If you need any items, please borrow them before these dates. All loan periods will be extended so that no fines are incurred during the closure.
