Terms of Use / FAQ

The general user regulations of the UB apply (see UB User Regulations (PDF, 346 KB)). In addition, you’ll find below some guidelines that apply specifically to our equipment.

Who can use the devices?

Use is generally available to all UZH members.
Reservations by external persons or organizations are possible in exceptional cases and only by prior arrangement.

How long is the loan period for the equipment?

We lend out our equipment for a maximum of one week. During semester breaks, longer loan periods can be granted upon request.

Liability in case of damage

Users are personally responsible for any damage or loss. Liability insurance is recommended. In addition, a handling fee will be charged in accordance with the user regulations.

Return of recording equipment

Storage media
The recording equipment is supplied with storage media. These are formatted by us upon return without verification.

Batteries
The recording equipment is generally operated with batteries. We provide the devices with a full charge whenever possible.
However, please check the battery level before use.

How Much Does It Cost to Use?

In principle, the use of the devices is free of charge.
In exceptional cases, e.g. in the case of large material consumption in 3D printing, the real costs incurred will be invoiced.

Can users be excluded from using the equipment?

We generally rely on users’ personal responsibility and fairness.
In cases of misuse (such as failure to comply with usage or safety conditions, or causing damage), we reserve the right to temporarily exclude individuals from using the equipment.
