The Digital Library Space (DLS) is not an ordinary library location. We offer you a space for:
- Collaborative (loud) working
- Brainstorming sessions & workshops
- Study spaces
- Video equipment
- Video games for a break
Audio and Video Equipment
We offer a large selection of audio and video equipment for borrowing. Under the motto “help for self-help,” we are happy to support you with your project.

Gaming in the Library
As the first library location at UZH, we provide access to gaming equipment and promote exchange about gaming as a relevant medium in today’s cultural context! Take a break with a round of Mario Kart, FIFA, or Mortal Kombat!
FAQ
Where is the DLS located?
The DLS is located in the SOC building, right next to the main building (see
information about the location with address and opening hours). The entrance is on the side facing the main building. You can find us on floor F.
Do I need a UZH Card to access the DLS?
The DLS is only accessible with an active UZH Card. When events take place in the DLS, the door may be kept permanently open from the inside and then no UZH Card is needed.
What makes the DLS different from "regular" library spaces?
The DLS is a library space where talking and discussions are encouraged! For working together, we provide various tools such as whiteboards, screens, and mobile felt walls.
Where can I see if an event is taking place in the DLS?
It may be that the DLS is exclusively reserved. Usually, this is only the case outside of study periods. However, the upcoming events are listed on the board directly to the left of the entrance door.
How should I behave when an event is taking place in the DLS?
You can reserve the DLS to hold workshops, make video recordings, or do group work. However, everyone is still allowed to use the DLS. Please be considerate of each other, especially regarding noise levels. Outside of the semester, the DLS may also be exclusively reserved. You can find these reservations on the board to the left of the entrance door. A reservation notification will also appear on the large screen to the right of the entrance.
