Simple Search
For a quick and easy query, swisscovery is the suitable starting point.
Using Filters
Filter your results to narrow down the search results.
The resource type is always shown above the title.
Location of Documents
Filter your results under ZB / Universität Zürich by location to determine whether a copy is available in a specific library at the UB.
Databases of other SLSP libraries can be filtered in the swisscovery network.
Note that documents outsourced to the Swiss Cooperative Storage Library can be ordered free of charge by UZH members via order form.
Find Database
In the Database Search tab, you can display an alphabetical list of databases by category and call up as well as browse specific databases in this list.
Alternatively, you can search for a specific database using a keyword in the search box.
Delete Filters

Click on New Search to remove preset filters. All matches in the selected search range are displayed again.
Advanced Search

For more complex queries, we recommend starting with the Advanced Search in swisscovery. The input form helps to set targeted research ranges, links, filters, and further query parameters.
Available Search Ranges

The swisscovery UB and ZB portal offers 5 search interfaces: :
swisscovery (without CDI)
This search interface contains all records of the SLSP network. The SLSP network comprises over 470 academic libraries in Switzerland. In this query space, everything is searched which has been purchased, licensed, and recorded by the participating libraries. This query space is preset by default in both the simple and the expanded query.
swisscovery (with CDI)
This query space contains all records of the SLSP network as well as the data of the Central Discovery Index (CDI). The CDI is a cross-disciplinary index and includes a growing number of external sources. Searches in this query space generate large sets of results, as they also search licensed and open-access databases and platforms. Articles, book chapters, studies, and reviews are also included. This search space must be actively selected.
swisscovery plus
This query space contains all records of swisscovery (with CDI) and additionally all records form Renouvaud (Réseau des bibliothèques Vaudoises).This search space must be actively selected.
swisscovery UB and ZB Zürich (without CDI)
This query space comprises a subset of the query space swisscovery (without CDI). It contains documents and media purchased, licensed, and recorded by the UB and the ZB Zurich. This query space must be actively selected..
swisscovery UB and ZB Zürich (with CDI)
This query space comprises a subset of the query space swisscovery (with CDI). It contains the datasets of the UB and the ZB Zurich as well as the data of the Central Discovery Index (CDI). The CDI is a cross-disciplinary index that includes a growing number of external sources. Searching this query space generates large numbers of results, as it also searches databases and platforms licensed by the UB and ZB, as well as those that are freely accessible. Articles, book chapters, studies, and reviews are also included. This search space must be actively selected.
