The University Library Zurich agreed Open Access agreements with the academic publishers listed below, which offer a full or partial discount on the Open Access publication fees to the authors affiliated with the University of Zurich. Based on theOpen Access strategy for Switzerland, the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries is negotiating national Read&Publish (R&P) agreements. Some further agreements are negotiated into institutional licenses or the publishers offer an alternative approach towards transitioning subscription-based journals into Open Access. For all these contracts corresponding authors must indicate their affiliation with the University of Zurich or associated university hospitals and use the institutional e-mail address. Authors wishing to publish their articles Open Access under the agreements must meet the following criteria listed below.
There are no costs for UZH researchers for publications in journals of the following publishers. APCs are covered by UB Zurich. The specific conditions of the individual agreements can be found under the respective publisher.

SNSF-Funding: The agreement with ASC excludes funding for articles in hybrid journals that acknowledge funding by the National Science Foundation (SNSF). The authors will be given the option to publish the article open access at a reduced rate. For SNSF-funded articles published in gold open access journals, ACS will automatically apply for article to be funded open access on behalf of the authors. |

By submitting the manuscript and consenting to the Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA), authors agree that their accepted article will be published as Open Access under a CC BY license if funding of the article costs (APC) is possible via the Open Access Agreement with the University Library/Central Library of Zurich. Once the article has been accepted, the author will receive an e-mail notification that the article funding has been approved by the affiliated institution and will be published automatically open access. If the author does not wish to publish the article open access the publisher “De Gruyter” has to be informed accordingly: oafunding@degruyter.com
