Our article allocation for free Open Access publishing in Nature Research journals for the year 2023 has been reached. OA articles can still be published free of charge in Springer Nature's hybrid journals.
The article quota for free publishing of open access articles in the Nature Research Portfolio has been reached. Until the end of 2023, the University Library can therefore no longer cover the cost of the article processing charges (APC’s) in the Nature Research journals. Members of the University of Zurich or its’ affiliated hospitals may continue to publish open access articles, but at their own expense.
Free open access publishing under the agreement in Springer Nature's hybrid journals via SpringerLink is still possible. It is also possible to choose the green route (self-archiving) for publishing open access. The accepted manuscript can be deposited in the repository ZORA after an embargo period. As of 1.1.2024 the new allocation of open access articles in the Nature Research journals will be open to use.
